Every year in early November, the Battle of the SACs, better known as the BotS, takes place.
The BotS is a 20-hour non-stop race for alpinists and climbers who are members of a Student Alpine Club (SAC). Teams of four compete in running, mountain biking, climbing, sailing, and—just as importantly—thinking. The Battle begins on Friday evening and lasts until Saturday evening.
The Battle of the SACs is the brainchild of Arnaud Temme, first organized by Ibex in 2004, and has since grown into one of the largest intersociety events! The winning team always organizes the next BotS.
The BotS was won in 2019 by the “Eeuwige derde” team from the ASAC, so the BotS will take place in Amsterdam on November 5 and 6, 2021 (the 2020 edition was canceled due to a Spanish beer). Mark this date in your calendar! More information at https://bots.alpenclub.nl/
