Alpine Snow Sport

NSAC Alpine Snow Sports courses are designed to prepare young winter athletes for a future of tour skiing, freeriding or technically perfect piste skiing. The course is divided into three sections. From beginner to advanced off-piste lessons. Depending on how fast a student learns, it would be possible to take all three courses at once, but it is highly recommended to practice on your own in between and improve your technique.

Alpine Snow Sports 1 (ASS1)

This course is designed for the very furthest skiers, the people who haven’t stood at the top of a ski elevator before and would like to.

Or if you’ve never gone down a green slope without bailing every 3 feet of snow, this is the course for you.

Goal:

The goal of this course is to teach you proper basic techniques so that you can come down green/blue slopes comfortably on your own after the course. How do you actually hold your poles when skiing down? How do you make a turn the right way? Should you lean more forward or more backward on your skis? Isn’t rolling downhill much faster?

Entry requirements:

Enthusiasm is most important.

In addition, it is good to know that you will be on the slopes from early to late for 6 days so it is useful to be fit.

Alpine Snow Sports 2 (ASS2)

This course is designed for skiers who already have some weeks of experience under their belt and want to further refine their techniques. Have you taken a technique course before and then thought “I wish I had paid better attention”? Then ASS2 may be a good entry point for you.

Goal:

The goal of the course is to further sharpen and refine basic techniques. So that you take your turns just a little sharper, dare to hang further forward on your ski, know how to place your stick just a little more precisely to take your turn even more efficiently.

At the end of the course you will be able to descend a red slope without hesitation and possibly even look down the black slopes already without fear.

Entry requirements:

Comfortable skiing down blue slopes. (About 2 weeks of skiing experience)

In addition, it is good to know that you will be on the slopes from early to late for 6 days so it is useful to be fit.

Alpine Snow Sports 3 (ASS3)

This course is for anyone who would like to move from on-piste to off-piste. You already have the technique to comfortably ski down slopes from green to black, but you want to discover what else to ski down. You want to learn how to go down a trail by yourself in the fresh snow in a safe way, but you are just not experienced enough for the freeride or tour ski course yet.

You can also use this course as an entrance course before continuing with a freeride or tourski course.

Goal:

To make you completely independent on the slopes. After this course you will have all pistes in your pocket and won’t be surprised by any color. You will also learn the basics of off-piste skiing, including when to safely go up and down off-piste sections.

Entry requirements:

Comfortable skiing down red/black slopes (about 4 weeks of skiing experience).

In addition, it is good to know that you will be on the slopes from early to late for 6 days so it is useful to be fit.
