Freeride

Freeride 1

This course is designed for skiers who already have experience with off piste skiing, have basic knowledge of avalanche science, and can ski down in a controlled manner in various snow conditions. Would you like to learn to interpret avalanche situations and challenge yourself on steep descents in fresh snow? Then the freeride 1 course is for you!

Goal:

During this course you will learn all the skills and techniques necessary to ski safely in all conditions you will find around the ski area. You will get a deeper understanding of avalanche science, and you will learn to apply and analyze the knowledge. You will learn to properly interpret the avalanche report. You will learn how to properly handle your trinity and will perform an avalanche rescue yourself, in a controlled situation. From the elevator, you will go directly off the piste or take a short hike first and then drop in. Since you will be skiing a lot off-piste, you will also learn to orient yourself properly, and work on your technique at the same time!

Entry requirements:

Downhill: All slopes in the ski area you will come down smoothly, controlled and with proper technique. You can also ski in different snow types, and come down mogul slopes and off-piste terrain with ease.
