The Dutch Student Alpine Club was founded on January 26, 1971, as an umbrella organization for the Student Alpine Clubs (SACs) in the Netherlands. The NSAC organizes major projects for the SACs, such as a Winter and Summer program. As an umbrella organization, the NSAC assumes several responsibilities from the SAC boards, such as managing the board’s liability insurance and operating the SAC server.
The NSAC’s daily management is the responsibility of the General Board (DB). The DB also represents the SACs in Nederlandse Klim en Bergsport Vereniging (NKBV) en Studenten Sport Nederland (SSN).
The DB currently consists of the following persons:

![]() Hi everyone! I’m Sophie, and this year I have the honor of calling myself the president of the NSAC. In the past few years, I’ve enjoyed many different NSAC courses and activities. After doing some hut-to-hut hikes with friends, I decided to become a “ghost member” of the RSAC so I could take a C1 course through the NSAC. The following summer I somehow ended up at the NSAC campsite. One evening I managed to arrange not only some lukewarm couscous but also an alpine tour with the LSAC; I joined them spontaneously at their summer chalet and ended up signing up there as well. The next academic year I suddenly found myself as part of the WP committee, was a member of two SACs, spent nine weeks in the Alps, and enthusiastically took part in the Bots and Utrecht–Freyr. And now—after four NSAC courses and many inter-SAC activities and friendships—it’s time to give something back to the student climbing community! I’m looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible in the mountains and beyond!

![]() Hello everyone! I’m Lin, a beginner alpinist but a very experienced mountain enthusiast. Ever since I was young, my parents have taken me to the mountains, and there’s nothing I love more than spending a week (or three) hiking through the mountains with a tent on my back. Since joining the ASAC, I’ve also become a huge climbing fanatic, and I’ve grown to enjoy challenging adventures more and more. I’m a big BotS fan and really enjoy taking new climbing and mountaineering courses. That’s why I’m incredibly excited to dedicate myself to the NSAC in the coming year and to support the SACs’ instructors, so that more people can have the chance to fall in love with the mountains just like I did!

![]() Dear all, My name is Mattea, and I have the honor of being your NSAC Ab this year! That means you’ll be hearing and seeing a lot from me, mostly in the form of promo and, of course, the newsletters. Even though my Heimat in southern Germany is much closer to the Alps than Utrecht is, I only started climbing and mountaineering as an adult. During Covid, my sister (also an ASAC member) came to live with me in the beautiful Frankenjura, and lacking a climbing partner, she “raised” climber-me. Since then I’ve become an enthusiastic sport climber, beginner alpinist, BotS-lover, thru-hiker, and by now a fifth-year USAC member. I’m looking forward to seeing you at as many inter-SAC events as possible and chatting about the mountains together. Tschüssi!

![]() Hi hi! I’m Noreen, and I’m a member of Yeti. I started sport climbing when I was 9 years old, and wow—what an amazing sport it is! Throughout the year I try to do as much outdoor sport climbing and bouldering as possible. And when it finally gets too cold, I give in to the snow and enjoy some wonderful snowboarding! I also don’t mind money, so I’m looking forward to being your Treasurer.

![]() Servus, This year I have the honor of being the chair of the WP committee. I’m proud that we’re bringing the WP to my home country, Austria. I first discovered the WP three winters ago when I started with ASS3. The winter after that I spent three weeks in the WP chalet, and since then I’ve done a lot of ski touring. The year after, I even spent the entire winter in the Alps and was on skis every single day. So things got a bit out of hand! Looking for adventure this winter? Let us know! Together with my committee, I hope to create a winter program where everyone can learn a lot and, above all, have an amazing time. We’re also staying in a fantastic house with a bar and sound system, so I’m already looking forward to the changeover parties 😉 With alpine greetings, Monty

![]() Hi everyone! I’m Fé, and this year I have the honor of fulfilling the role of Summer Queen together with Esther! As your ZP Internal Commissioner, I’m responsible for all internal affairs. This includes organizing the selection days, creating the schedules, and of course handling the promo so everyone knows just how fantastic the Summer Program is! When I started studying in Utrecht in 2022, I had to choose a sport. The shortlist was climbing, pole dancing, and rugby, but the mountains (and especially the people who love them as much as I do) lovingly pulled me into the SAC world. I immediately made climbing my entire personality and took a C1 course with the Summer Program in my first year. In the meantime, I’ve moved to Eindhoven, which gives me the privilege of being a member of both the USAC and the ESAC! My heart now leans a bit more toward alpinism than sport climbing, and I’m currently training to become a climbing instructor. I love helping others enjoy climbing as much as I do! And to make sure the mountains are accessible not only in summer, I started skiing—this year I’ll be joining the Winter Program for the second time, full of enthusiasm. I’m really looking forward to working behind the scenes to make sure we have another unforgettable summer, and I hope to see all of you at the selection days and in the mountains!

![]() Hi everyone! I’m Esther, and this year I’m one of the Summer Queens together with Fé! For four years now I’ve been able to call myself a USAC member, but I have the privilege that my parents put me on little plastic skis when I was three, and when I was five they already took me on a real hut-to-hut hike with a backpack filled with a sleeping bag liner and a teddy bear. So the mountains were spoon-fed to me from a young age—though we didn’t often leave the trails. Since joining the USAC, I’ve discovered ski touring and alpinism, and I’m super hyped to keep improving. In the past few years I’ve experienced a lot with the USAC—last year I had the honor of being president—as well as with the NSAC’s Winter and Summer Programs! Events like Utrecht–Freyr, the Batavierenrace, and the BotS are circled bright red in my calendar every year (I literally jumped for joy when the message came in that the Bata is happening again this year), and you can also spot me at plenty of Dies-parties. Like most of you, my favorite place to be is in the mountains, and that’s where you’ll usually find me whenever I have time off between my medical internships. Due to a slightly clumsy chain of events, I’m also on the WP committee, so I’m super excited for the upcoming winter and summer programs and hope to see many of you this year!
